• About

Zakynthos is the southernmost and largest of the Ionian Islands. The east side consists of many lovely beautiful sandy beaches. The western side consists of a pine-covered mountain plateau with high plains down into the sea.
In the summer, the turtles Caretta-Caretta (endangered) come to the island and burrow their eggs on the beaches. If you are lucky, you can swim with the turtles at one of the beaches that are protected. In Zakynthos town on Alexander street you can shop fashion clothes, jewelry and leather. Zakynhtos is known for its good olives, wine and oily ladotiri cheese.
There are beaches along the entire east coast that are all worth a visit.
